Debra Saalfield

Debra is a former 2010 Pro/Am American Style World Ballroom Dance Champion.  She brought this title home at The Ohio Star Ball with professional instructor, World Professional Champion, Tomasz Mielnicki. Other accomplishments include:

•  United States Dancesport Championship Finals, American Smooth Pro/Am, 2009 and 2010

• Manhattan Dancesport Championships, 1st Place Pro/Am American Style Smooth Scholarship, 2010

• Hotlanta Dance Championships, Finals, American Smooth Scholarship, 2009

• ABC’s “ Dancing With The Stars” – New York City 2006 pre-live promotional event

• “ Dance Wars with Bruno and Carrie Ann” ABC TV, 2007 – pre-show commercial

Debra teaches all levels of American Style Smooth and various Rhythm dances.  She has been coached and taught by some of the finest ballroom professionals in the country.

Debra is an accomplished musical theater and ballroom dance choreographer having worked at The Sugden Theater, The Gulfshore Playhouse and for prominent Southwest Florida galas and fundraisers.

 She also specializes in teaching wedding couples that dazzling “first dance", focusing on customized choreography for weddings and special events. 

In 2018, Debra created a program called "Sit Step Sing" which became very popular in Southwest Florida at Assisted Living and Memory Care facilities. Exercises and movements are done in a chair. This allows residents with little or no mobility to enjoy fantastic, memorable music, easy movement with a sing-a-long for those who wish to participate

The program took off in 2019 and Debra moved her business to Hendersonville, North Carolina in 2020. She is currently introducing her one-of-a-kind, dynamic chair exercise program to residents of Western North Carolina.
